VENTETE approached RHEON LABS with the brief of improving comfort of their new
aH-1 micro-collapsible helmet.
I assisted in the development of a new liner solution, bonded to a carrier fabric, that allowed RHEON to securely bond to the internal rib structure without interfering with the folding mechanism of the inflatable helmet. Utilising algorithmic fit analysis, my team developed a bubble-like solution that reduced pressure points on the head whilst also improving linear and rotation performance of the system.

// Behind the Design
Digital fit analysis between the user and helmet system allowed the thickness of the RHEON™ geometries to be optimised for comfort and performance.
The bubbles are designed to maximise contact area with the head, creating a cushioning effect to reduce peak pressure points that lead to discomfort. The combination of geometry and highly strain-rate sensitive polymer creates an energy absorbing suspension system between the aH-1 airbag system and the user, reducing rotational and linear accelerations during impact.
